Meet Harji
I didn't set out to be a homebuilder. I came to Canada in 2013 as a first-generation Immigrant with one dream: to build my own construction company. I worked toward it while holding down a full-time job, took whatever hands-on experience I could get, and in 2018 booked my own first home — three months before the company I worked for went bankrupt. I was jobless, three months from closing, and terrified I'd lose everything I'd put down.
That scare turned into the best thing that happened to me. I landed a job as a project manager at a small construction company, and my boss told me something I never forgot: "You find your own jobs to manage." Before I was a builder, I had to become a salesman. That lesson built the foundation for everything since.
In 2023 I became a licensed Realtor and opened my own construction company the same year. In 2025, after a partnership that cost me $75,000 and nearly maxed out my credit line, I made the hardest call of my career: I fired my partner, rebuilt the business, and put my own name on it — Harji Custom Homes. It was a risk I took on purpose, because I wasn't willing to build anyone's dream home under a name I didn't stand behind.
Today, as a civil engineer turned Realtor and Home Builder, I help families across the GTA and Kitchener-Waterloo buy, sell, and build with someone who's done the work on both sides of the table — the deal and the build. I treat every client's money like it's my own, because I know exactly what it feels like to have everything riding on one closing date.
